Waffletown welcomes the arrival of the All-Star break and hopes that the break will give most of the players the time to get their collective heads together and on the right page. The team has struggled through the first half of July (7-9) and have fallen 7 games off the pace for the AC East division.
Johnny Pesky and Cecil Travis continue to be bright spots for the offense as they sit 1-2 respectively in the batting race (.334 for Pesky, .319 for Travis). Lefty O'Doul has already tied his career best for home runs in his short stint with the club (20 already this season), and will hopefully obliterate that personal record with half the season remaining.
