Proper 19th century support needs to be a priority. It hasn't been improved in years and years. 1901 and forward is outstanding. Somehow the game has real lineups for the whole period despite the fact that Retrosheet and Baseball Reference don't go back that far. That took real research and a lot of drudgery.

Edit: To the OP. Play the 1915 A's (they're terrible, too) or something else that interests you after 1901. You won't get nearly as frustrated, and the game will shine.
