Changing of the guard
Attempting to make the 9th defense of his WBO MW belt, Anthony Mundine welcomed former IBO champ, Grzegorz Proksa down under to Australia.
In a fight that appeared evenly matched on paper, Proksa made The Man look like the Old Man. In the 3rd a Mundine miss was countered by speed & power as the Pole dropped the champ with a combo.
In the 5th Mundine pressed the action & appeared to have GP in trouble but another combo dropped Mundine once again.
In the 10th, a right hook dropped Mundine once more & then a huge left cross ended the fight @ 2:49 of the round.
Proksa was up 231 (23%) to 156 (21%) in PL & up 88-83 & 87-83 twice on the cards for the impressive & dominating win. He's 9 years younger than Mundine who may be done as a major player @ 160 after that beating he took.
Proksa now 15-1 (13 KO's) & Mundine 19-2 (16 KO's).
Proksa's only loss is due to a 13th round DQ.
