May 6 - Preston Rogers (26-R) of San Antonio pitched a 5 hit shutout at Minnesota. He walked 1 and struck out 4. He is now 3-3 with a 3.70 ERA in 6 starts. The Missions won, 3 to 0, and only had 5 hits themselves.
May 6 - Jimmy Henderson (26-L) of Houston pitched a 5 hit shutout at home versus Salt Lake City. He walked 2 and struck out 2. It is his 2nd shutout of the season. He is now 4-0 with a 1.71 ERA in 5 starts. The Astros won, 4 to 0, and only had 3 hits themselves.
May 6 - 3B Ronaldo Entrevinhas (31-R) had 3 hits with a triple and a home run, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI at home versus San Francisco. The Rainiers won, 11 to 3.
May 6 - Jerry Cunningham (32-L) of Atlanta pitched a 4 hit shutout at Chicago. He did not walk a batter and struck out 2. At bat, he hit a double and scored a run. He is now 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA in 6 starts. The Crackers won, 5 to 0.
May 7 - Billy Fritts (29-L) of Boston pitched a 4 hit shutout at Montreal. He walked 1 and struck out 2. It is his 2nd shutout of the season. He us now 4-1 with a 2.05 ERA in 7 starts. The Braves won, 3 to 0.
May 8 - Rookie RF Gregg Buckner (24-L) of Oakland had 3 hits with a Grand Slam and 5 RBI at home versus Milwaukee. The Oaks won, 10 to 1.
May 8 - John Riley (27-R) of San Diego pitched a 2 hit shutout at home versus Salt Lake City. He walked 3 and struck out 5. At bat, he had a hit and a walk, scored a run and had an RBI. It is his 2nd shutout of the season. He is now 3-4 with a 2.17 ERA in 7 starts. The Padres won, 9 to 0.
May 8 - CF Buddy Jacobson (26-L) of Philadelphia had 3 hits with a Grand Slam and 5 RBI at Atlanta. The Phillies won, 8 to 6.
May 9 - Tom Walters (27-R) of Hollywood pitched a 4 hit shutout at San Antonio. He did not walk a batter and struck out 8. He is now 2-3 with a 4.66 ERA in 7 starts. The Stars won, 3 to 0.
May 9 - RF Dong-hak Shong (24-L) of Milwaukee went 4 for 4 with a double and a home run, drew a walk, scored 2 runs and had 5 RBI at Oakland. The Brewers won, 8 to 0.
May 9 - Rookie Ernesto Maduro (23-L) of Washington pitched a 2 hit shutout at Pittsburgh. He walked 4 and struck out 1. It was his Major League leading 3rd shutout of the season. He is now 5-0 with an 0.66 ERA in 5 starts. The Nationals won, 1 to 0, and only had 4 hits themselves.
May 9 - Baltimore beat Chicago, 4 to 3, at home in 17 innings. Both teams scored a run in the 12th.
May 10 - Rookie CF Roy Schaltenbrand (25-R) of St. Louis hit a Grand Slam, drew a walk and had 5 RBI at Boston, but the Cardinals lost, 10 to 8. The Braves scored 9 runs in the 2nd inning.
