Walkers news: May 24 -- Quad City 10, St. Louis 2

Record: 26-14, 1st, 1.5 GA Springfield
Quad City pounded St. Louis starting pitcher Jimmy Lambert for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning, turning a 2-0 lead to 8-0, and the Thunder rolled to a 10-2 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
St. Louis lone runs came on back-to-back homers with two outs in the bottom of the ninth from Jean Carmona and Alex Thomas, both allowed by reliever Drew Mendoza.
Carter Kieboom had an RBI double off Lambert in the second inning.
Duke Kinamon singled with one out in the third and later scored on a Randolph Thorne ground out.
Although he retired the first two hitters, the ceiling collapsed on Lambert in the fourth.

Six consecutive Q-C batters reached base, beginning with a two-out walk to Andrew Bethea.
Shane Shifflett and Kinamon had RBI singles.
Nick Gonzalez drove in two with a double.
Randolph Thorne capped the carnage with a two-run home run.
Thunder starting pitcher Izzy San Juan (2-3) kept the River Walkers off the board for the opening six innings, allowing five hits. He struck out five and walked one.
Mendoza worked the final three innings and earned his first save.
River Walkers' first baseman Rhys Hoskins had to leave the game in the fourth inning after suffering a hyperextended ankle while running the bases.
