Walkers news: St. Louis 5, Des Moines 3

Carlos Vidal led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a home run and Jean Carmona later added an RBI single as St. Louis downed Des Moines 5-3 at Busch Stadium (1997).
The victory The River Walkers victories in two of their three games in their series against the Harvesters.

Down 3-0, back-to-back home runs from Cody Bellinger (a two-run shot) and John Lehto off River Walkers starter Alex Faedo in the top of the eighth inning had tied it.
Vidal hit a 3-2 pitch from Harvesters reliever Leo Vazquez 384 feet over the wall in right field to break the tie.
Andrew Benintendi followed with double.
Rhys Hoskins then received an intentional walk.
Tanner Kohlhepp followed with a fly ball which moved Benintendi to third.
Carmona then singled on a 2-2 pitch, Benintendi scoring to make it 5-3.
Faedo was impressive not allowing a run through the first seven innings.
He finished the game having gone 7.1 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits.

Danny Grigg (2-0) completed that eighth inning and earned the win.
Edwin Diaz once again didn't allow a run in the ninth and collected his eighth save.
An RBI double from Jared Thomas off Des Moines starter Yeo-San Park in the second inning put St. Louis up 1-0.
Carmona cranked a two-run homer off Park in the fourth pushing it to 3-0.
