Walkers news: May 4 -- St. Louis 3, Quad City 0

Record: 18-5, 1st, 5 GA Springfield
Adonis Medina pitched a shutout before tiring with two outs in the top of the eighth inning and St. Louis completed a three-game sweep of Quad City with a 3-0 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
Batista (3-1) retired the first two batters in the eighth before allowing singles to Ka'ai Tom and Carter Kieboom.
John Curtiss relieved and worsened the situation with a walk to Duke Kinamon.
But he rebounded to strike out Shane Shifflett to stifle the uprising.
Batista exited with a line of no runs on four hits in his 7.2 innings. He struck out six and walked none.
The ninth inning belonged to Jake Brentz.
He allowed a lead-off double to Adam Haseley, but retired the next three for his fifth save.
The River Walkers notched their first two runs in the bottom of the second.
Tanner Kohlhepp led off with his first homer of the season, off Thunder starting pitcher Evan Steele.
Jean Carmona later singled and scored on a two-out double by Medina.
Alek Thomas hit a two-out homer off Steele in the fourth to make it 3-0.
