Walkers news: April 29 -- Springfield 2, St. Louis 1

Record: 13-5, 1st, 2.5 GA Springfield
Steven Gingery limited St. Louis to a single run over the first six innings and three relievers pitched a scoreless inning apiece to carry Springfield to a 2-1 win at Busch Stadium (1997).
Gingery carried a shutout into the sixth inning, by which time the Prairie Fighters led 2-0.
Springfield scored both its runs in the fourth inning off River Walkers starter Adonis Medina.
Wander Samuel Franco led off the inning with his first homer of the season.
The next batter, Riley Greene, singled, and he moved to third on a Trevor Larnach double.
Greene scored when Victor Caratini grounded out.
Limited to two hits by Gingery through the first five innings, Bo Bichette collected St. Louis' third when he homered with one out off Gingery.
The left-hander allowed a two-out single to Andrew Benintendi later in the inning, but got out of the inning with his team still in the lead.
For the game. Gingery (2-1) allowed the one run on three hits. He struck out three and walked one.
Mark McConnell, Sean Doolittle and Dinelson Lamet all worked an inning apiece to end it.
The save was the fourth of the season for Lamet.
