I'm working on a new set of historical names (using Questdog's and Markmeister's work as a jumping off point) for my new fictional replay league. Below is the result set of a newly created 1871 league. I'm happy enough with it to keep moving forward.
I found a source of first name distributions from actual census data. To that I added Markmeister's set of nicknames and I also added some of the short form names (e.g., "Mike"). Then I added it into Questdog's modern name set by taking over the Vietnamese language id. Works brilliantly.
