Walkers news: May 25 -- Springfield 4, St. Louis 3

Record: 22-19, 2nd (Tied/w. Kansas City), 3 GB Des Moines
Down 2-1, Springfield scored three times in the top of the seventh inning, paving the way for a 4-3 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
Kevin Pillar got things going with a one-out solo homer off River Walkers starting pitcher Aaron Nola.
With Nola still in the game, the St. Louis bullpen is running on fumes following a string of short starts, Wander Samuel Franco drew a two-out walk.
Max Schrock followed with a triple, putting the Prairie Fighters in front 3-2.
Jake Brentz replaced Nola and struggled issuing consecutive walks to Nate Traylor and Gary Sanchez.
A wild pitch then brought Schrock across the plate, and make it 4-2.
St. Louis got back within 4- with a run in the bottom of the eighth.
The Walkers then loaded the bases in the ninth against Hector Neris.
But with two outs Chaz Roe came on and struck out Bo Bichette to end it.
Springfield starter David Mengden worked four innings, allowing one run on two hits.
D.J. Jefferson handled the next two, allowing one run on two hits.
Four relievers -- Jake Diekman (1.0 IP), Alex Claudio (0.2), Neris (1.0) and Roe (0.1) -- combined to close it out.
Jefferson earned his first win. Roe got his first save.
