In the bottom of the second, Olerud scored from third when Eckstein fumbled a Guillen grounder with two out. Wilson followed with an RBI single.

In the top of the fourth, Spiezio put the Angels on the board with an RBI double.

In the top of the fifth, Glaus put the Angels in the lead with a two out two run homer. Kennedy also hit a two run homer in the inning. Joel Piniero took the mound for the Mariners after the Kennedy homer.

In the bottom of the sixth, Boone got an RBI single.

In the top of the eighth, Molina stroked an RBI double. Gil brought Molina home with a single.

Shigetoshi Hasegawa took the mound for the Angels in the bottom of the eighth. Javier scored one with a single.

Erstad led off the top of the ninth with a home run. Ryan Franklin took the mound for the Mariners. Salmon knocked one in with a single.

After a leadoff walk in the bottom of the ninth, Oscar Henriquez took the mound for the Angels.
