In the top of the fourth, the White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Leon went down on strikes for the second out. Johnson grounded to short to retire the side.

In the top of the fifth, Allen turned two Rangers errors into a three-run homer. Melton followed with a solo home run.

In the top of the sixth, with runners at the corners and one out, Jan Dukes took the mound for the Rangers. Berry connected with an RBI single. Allen walked to load the bases with one out. Melton drew a four pitch walk to force in a run. Hermann then grounded into the 4-6-3 to retire the side.

After six: Chicago 7 Texas 0.

In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on first and one out, Dan Neumeier took the mound for the White Sox.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Rangers loaded the bases with nobody out. Maddox scored when Burroughs grounded into the 6-4-3.

With one out in the top of the ninth, Gerry Janeski took the mound for the Rangers.

The White Sox got 11 hits in the win while the Rangers committed three errors.
