The Rangers will conclude their road trip with a three game weekend series in Chicago against the White Sox. The Rangers are currently 4-5 on this road trip and have lost four straight. The White Sox have lost eight of their last eleven. The White Sox lead the season series 8-4.

The Philadelphia Phillies have been mathematically eliminated from the post season.

In the top of the first, Wynn put the Rangers on the board with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the first, Allen put the White Sox in the lead with a two-run double.

In the top of the second, Maddox tied the game with an RBI double.

In the bottom of the third, the White Sox loaded the bases with two out. Leon flew to left to end the inning.

After three: Texas 2 Chicago 2.

Wynn led off the top of the fifth with a home run and the Rangers were back in the lead. Kubiak added a two-run double. Gogolewski then scored Kubiak with a single. With a runner on first and two out, Dan Neumeier took the mound for the White Sox. The Rangers batted around the order in the inning.

In the top of the sixth, with runners at second and third and one out, Vicente Romo took the mound for the White Sox. Berry threw Wynn out at home as he had tagged up and tried to score on a Billings fly ball.

In the bottom of the sixth, Andrews scored on a Leon sacrifice fly. Kelly added an RBI double.

After six: Texas 6 Chicago 4.

Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers in the bottom of the seventh. The White Sox loaded the bases with one out. Hermann tied the game with a two-run single. With runners at first and second and one out, Mike Paul took the mound for the Rangers. Pinch hitter Walt Williams put the White Sox back in the lead with a two-run double. Williams then scored on a Kelly single. The White Sox batted around the order in the inning.

Terry Forster took the mound for the White Sox in the top of the eighth. The Rangers loaded the bases with two out. Billings lined to center to retire the side.

After a leadoff walk in the top of the ninth, Steve Kealey took the mound for the White Sox. Three batters later, the game was over.

The two teams combined for 27 hits in the contest.

Final score: Chicago 9 Texas 6.
