Today is the rubber game in the season-opening series in Indianapolis between the Clippers and the Indians.

The Columbus Clippers received RP Tyler Olson from Major League Cleveland.

The Columbus Clippers promoted 1B Mike Napoli to Major League Cleveland.

In the bottom of the second, the Indians loaded the bases with one out. Smith set Stallings down on strikes for the second out. Lindsey then brought one run in with a single to right but Garcia threw Hill out at home as he was trying to score from second.

After three: Indianapolis 1 Columbus 0.

In the top of the fourth, Papi put the Clippers in the lead with a two-out two-run homer.

In the bottom of the fourth, Hill tied the game with a lead off home run.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hill put the Indians back in the lead with a two-out RBI single. Newman followed with his own RBI single to give the Indians a two run lead.

In the top of the sixth, Mejia tied the game with a two-run homer. With a runner on second and one out, Tyler M Jones took the mound for the Indians. Rosales gave the Clippers the lead back with an RBI double. Malm picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly. The Clippers batted around the order in the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, Jeff Beliveau took the mound for the Clippers.

After six: Columbus 6 Indianapolis 4.

In the top of the seventh, Papi picked up a two-out RBI single. With a runner on first and two out, Richard Rodriguez took the mound for the Indians.

In the bottom of the seventh, Beliveau struck out the side around a two-out triple by Luplow.

Evan Marshall took the mound for the Indians in the bottom of the ninth and finished off the Indians.

The two teams combined for 22 hits and 24 strikeouts in the contest. Liranzo recorded 10 of the strikeouts.

Final score: Columbus 7 Indianapolis 4.
