Defensive subs still not quite right

I have some defensive subs coming in for save situations in the 9th inning. Against LHP starters my 3B is weaker defensively, and against RHP starters, my RF is weaker defensively. So I replace ONE of these guys in the 9th inning . But what I have discovered today is that the trigger for whether the 3B or RF gets replaced is NOT the starting pitcher, but the handedness of the last pitcher my team faced. So if in the 8th inning the last reliever has the opposite handedness of the starter -- the wrong player gets replaced.. In fact, this makes my defensive alignment worse. If a RHP started the game, my RF needs to be replaced in the 9th inning, NOT my 3B just because the enemy used a LHP in the 8th.
