Today is the second game in the series in Texas between the Rangers and the Boston Red Sox. The Rangers have won four straight while the Red Sox have lost six straight.

Bosman was perfect through three.

In the top of the fourth, Smith hit a two out double for the Red Sox first baserunner of the game. Buthe would be stranded there.

In the bottom of the fourth, Kubiak broke the scoreless tie with an RBI single.

In the top of the sixth, Yastrzemski tied the game with an RBI double. Smith then hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Yastrzemski with the go-ahead run. Fisk added an RBI double as well. And Petrocelli hit a two run homer.

Burroughs led off the bottom of the sixth with a home run.

After six: Boston 5 Texas 2.

In the bottom of the seventh with runners at the corners, Maddox scored from third when Nelson grounded into the 5-4 fielder's choice. Howard then brought Nelson home with a single to make it a one run game.

Yastrzemski led off the top of the eighth with a home run.

Paul Lindblad took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the ninth.

Bobby Bolin took the mound for the Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth and got the three up three down to end the Red Sox losing streak.

The Rangers lost despite getting 10 hits in the game.

Final score: Boston 6 Texas 4.
