The Cubs continue their home stand today as they begin a four game series against the first place New York Giants. The Cubs are currently 7-3 on this home stand. The Giants have won ten straight games. The season series between these two teams is tied 4-4.

The Washington Senators have traded 1B Jake Stahl to the Detroit Tigers for RP Jack Rowan and SS Charley O'Leary.

Donlin led off the game with his 10th double of the season. One out later, Strang brought him home with a triple. The inning would end, however, with Bresnahan striking out for the 20th time this season, stranding Strang at third.

In the top of the third, Bresnahan made up for his first inning strikeout by stroking an RBI single. Strang then scored on a Smith throwing error.

After three: New York 3 Chicago 0.

In the top of the fourth, the Giants loaded the bases with two out. But Beebe got out of the jam by striking out Devlin to retire the side.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Cubs got on the board on an RBI single by Steinfeldt.

In the top of the fifth, the Giants loaded the bases with nobody out. Burke flied out to left without bringing home a run and therewas one away. Mathewson, however, did bring the run in with a sacrifice fly to center.

After six: New York 4 Chicago 1.

In the top of the eighth, McGann all but put the game away with a two run double as the Giants took advantage of another Cubs error. McGann then scored on a ground ball by Devlin that was also turned into an error.

Six total errors in the game for Chicago was more than enough for the Giants to beat the Cubs.

Final score: New York 7 Chicago 1.
