In the top of the first, May brought one home with a double. A Melton single scored May. Broberg struck out the side but also allowed two runs on three hits.

In the bottom of the first, the Rangers loaded the bases with one out. Madlock got a run-scoring single to put the Rangers on the board. Harrah followed with a two run single to give the Rangers the lead. Madlock scored from third when Nelson grounded out to third.

In the bottom of the second, Burroughs hit a sacrifice fly to score Maddox from third.

Henderson led off the top of the third with a home run.

After three: Texas 5 Chicago 3.

In the top of the fourth, the White Sox scored one on a Muser single and then two on a Henderson two-bagger to retake the lead. It was the White Sox 10th hit of the game.

In the top of the fifth, Leon brought Melton home with a sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Rangers scored on a Burroughs double and tied the game on an RBI double by Madlock. An intentional walk loaded the bases with nobody out. Nelson then grounded out to third, scoring Epstein to give the Rangers the lead back. Another intentional walk loaded the bases with one out. Billings popped up and there were two down. Maddox, the ninth batter of the inning, singled to score Madlock. It was the Rangers 10th hit of the game. Johnson then drew a walk to bring home Harrah. Steve Kealey replaced Bahnses on the mound for the White Sox. Burroughs then flew out to right to finally end the inning.

In the top of the sixth, Henderson tripled to hit for the cycle. One pitch later, rain began to fall. May flew out to center and then Maddox threw Henderson out trying to score from third.

In the bottom of the sixth, the umpires decided to call the game due to bad weather.

Final score: Texas 10 Chicago 7.
