In the top of the second, Hermann hit a 2-run homer. One out later, Reichardt hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the second, the Rangers loaded the bases with one out. Carty then flew out to center and Epstein was thrown out at home after tagging up at third.

In the top of the third, Allen hit a 2-run homer.

After three: Chicago 5 Texas 0.

In the top of the sixth, Don Stanhouse took the mound for the Rangers.

In the bottom of the sixth, Johnson scored the Rangers first run of the season as he come home from third on an Epstein groundball out to third. Harrah added an RBI single.

After six: Chicago 5 Texas 2.

In the top of the seventh, the White Sox loaded the bases with two out without picking up a single base hit. Hermann then popped up foul but Sudakis dropped the ball for the Rangers second error of the inning. Hermann then ended up flying out to left to retire the side.

In the top of the eighth, it was Henderson with a 2-run single. With a runner at first and one out, Mike Paul replaced Stanhouse on the mound for the Rangers. May then belted a 2-run homer for the White Sox 10th hit of the game. Later in the inning, Allen was thrown out at home trying to score from first on a Melton double.

In the bottom of the ninth, Carty got an infield single for the Rangers 10th hit of the game.

Final score: Chicago 9 Texas 2.
