Van Mungo was a man on a mission today. He wasn't going to Alexandria down 2 games. It didn't take long for the Aces to know Mungo had his best stuff. Van threw 7 innings of 3 hit ball allowing zero runs and striking out 4. Wayne Gomes redeemed himself by going tossing 2 scoreless innings for the save. The win for Mungo is his 11th postseason win, making him a stellar 11-3 when it matters most. At the plate for Mobile the hitting stars were Jorge Orta, Tommy Holmes and Kirby Puckett. Orta was 2-5 with 3 RBI. Holmes 2-4, with a home run and 2 RBI. Puckett picked up 2 hits as well.
The series is tied 1-1. We now have a travel day as the series shifts to Alexandra.
