I decided to make a new version of this in the new MLB 162-games-in-186-days form. To do that involved making some 4-game series, and in doing that I sacrificed perfect home/away balance in the division. Each team plays one division opponent 10H/8A, one 8H/10A, and the other three 9H/9A.

See the comments below for the very fixed method of how the interdivision and interleague matchups were slotted in.

Code:
#
# 24 team schedule, 162 games
# Designed for the following configuration:
# 2 subleagues each with 2 divisions, each with 6 teams
#
#
# 18 games against 5 other teams in division (8-10H/8-10A)
# 6 games against 6 other teams in league (3H/3A)
# 3 games against 6 teams in other league (3H or 3A)
#
#
# Interdivision series occur every other weekend
# Interleague series occur early every other week,
# immediately following interdivision matchups
#
# Teams play as many as 20 consecutive days without offday
#
# No homestands or roadtrips longer than 14 games
#
# Teams play 13-14 weekend series at home
#
# All game times set at 7:05pm
#
# Season begins Thursday before first Monday of April
# Season thus ends late September/early October
