TRADE NEWS
7/10 Cardinals dealt OF Mike D Young to the New York Giants for 28 year old reliever Jeff Reardon and 19 year old OF Sam Bradshaw. Young was hitting 242-12-37 in 70 games for St Louis and has hit .351-3-10 in 17 games since the deal. Reardon was 5-1 3.18 in 23 games with NY and has gone 1-1 7.56 in 5 games since. Bradshaw is a fringe OF prospect who can defend well on teh corners.

7/14 The Giants then sent NL SB leader Scott Podsednik to the Boston Braves while getting 28 year old RP Joe McClain and 22 year old minor league P Jeff White in return. Podsednik was hitting .309-3-35 with 17-28 SB with NY and has hit .309-1-5 since the deal, with Boston. White was a blue chip 5 star relief prospect for the Braves and McClain is being used in the middle of the Giants pen now.

INJURY NEWS
Washington Senators-Will be without 21 year old Jhoulys Chacin for the next 11-12 months after he underwent Tommy John surgery. He was 5-7 4.14 in 21 games (15 starts).

7/25 Washington lost 22 year old SP Pete Meegan for the season with shoulder problems. Meegan was 7-9 in 22 starts with a 3.98 ERA. This marked the 2nd season ender for a Senator SP in the past weeks.

7/27 Jimmy Bannon (BOS) went 5-6 with 2 RBI's in a 13-4 win over Detroit.

TRADE NEWS
7/27 The Yankees sent 28 year old SP Bob Tewksbury to the Browns for 4 star prospect 1B Vincent Perez. Tewksbury was 8-10 4.38 for New York in 23 starts and is 0-0 0.00 in 2 relief appearances for St Louis where he is being used to setup Closer Robby Nen.

INJURY NEWS
7/28 Pittsburgh lost the services of 24 year old Pedro Martinez for the next 8-9 weeks. Pedro was 12-7 3.56 in 23 starts.
