NCAA Free Agent season

It might be quite tough to program, but one of the more interesting developments of the past decade has been "Christmas in March" that comes when all of the undrafted or unsigned NCAA players become available.

Some are draftees who are ready to turn pro. Others were undrafted (or had refused to sign) and they are unrestricted free agents. Those rules are complicated but often there are about 10 decent NHLers who suddenly slip into the NHL and can compete in the playoffs.
