As their third season in the Perfect tier begins, Waffletown hopes their squad can play up to their potential and make a push for their first post season birth at the top level. The team has remained unchanged since the call-up of Edd Roush, and while management has a decent war chest built up, it's still short of what would be necessary to bring in a player who would be an upgrade over what they already have. Management continues to watch the offer sheets on the off chance a bargain deal shows up.

As the month of April comes to a close, Waffletown is fairing better this season than last, as they roll into May with a winning record (14-13) and sit just 2 games back of the AC West division lead.

At the plate, Cool Papa Bell is swinging a consistent bat with a .300 average and is taking advantage of those hits with a league leading 16 stolen bases. At the back end of the lineup, Ernie Lombardi has been swinging an equally hot bat with a solid .343 average, 7 home runs and 20 rbis.

On the mound, Lefty Gomez (4-2, 3.58) and Eddie Plank (3-1, 3.12) are off to decent starts; and Wilcy Moore (3 saves, 0.71) has been his reliable self in the closer position.

Management hopes some of the other players who are struggling to get into a good groove find their mojo and the team begins to click like they did during their run in the Diamond tier.
