2074 Season (End of June – MLB)

The Pittsburgh Steelers put together a really strong start to the month of June but finished by dropping 7 of their last 10 games. They still have the best record in the majors but have some issues to address as they head into July. Meanwhile, in the NL West, there hasn’t been much movement as each team stayed at or near .500 for the month – though Phoenix managed to close the 2-game gap for 1st in the NL West on the last day of the month. Jacksonville, who closed out June by winning 7 of their last 10, rode the resurgence of Josiah Weber (10-5, 2.71) to a 2 ½ game lead over the New York Jets in the AL East (Green Bay fell from 1st to 3rd in June). The defending champion Seattle Sounders have stayed hot and have a 2-game lead over the Los Angeles Galaxy – they’ve mixed a potent offense with the best starting rotation in baseball all season and have achieved the expected results (and they have the #3 prospect in baseball developing in AAA). They’ll be around at the end of this thing – unless Josiah has something to say about it.

Batters of the Month:
AL: 1B Monte Lofthus (PDX): .356 AVG, 10 jacks, 23 RBIs – drafted 16th in 2064 out of Houston.
NL: LF Tony Voorhis (PIT): .386 AVG, 8 ding dongs, 18 RBIs – drafted 9th in 2068 out of Nebraska.

Pitchers of the Month:
AL: SP David Arney (SEA): 5-0, 1.93 ERA – drafted 23rd in 2066 out of East Carolina.
NL: SP John Aivazian (LAL): 5-0, 1.43 ERA – drafted 51st in 2067 out of Ole Miss.
