In the top of the ninth, Mathews hit a two-out, two-run homer. Howie Koplitz took the mound for the Colt .45s.

In the top of the eighth, the Braves loaded the bases with nobody out. Adcock brought a run in with a sacrifice fly. Pendleton threw Hank Aaron out at home when he tagged and tried to score on a Maye fly ball.

Lee Burdette took the mound for the Braves in the bottom of the eighth.

In the top of the ninth, with a runner on first and one out, George Brunet took the mound for the Colt .45s. The Braves went on to load the bases with one out. Crandall lined to first for the second out. Ashburn scored on a wild pitch. A walk loaded the bases with two out. Jones struck out to retire the side.

Bob Buhl took the mound for the Braves in the bottom of the ninth. The Colt .45s loaded the bases with nobody out. Goodman hit an RBI single.
