The Philadelphia Phillies will be without SP Woody Fryman for up to 4 weeks. The 30 year old is 9-11 with a 2.87 ERA in 20 starts. Last year Fryman led the league in losses when he was 10-20 with a 3.87 ERA in 35 starts for the Phillies. Fryman was an All Star in 1968. Fryman nearly had a perfect game in 1965 as a Pirate, he allowed the lead off hitter in the first, Mets Ron Hunt open with a single. After Hunt got caught stealing, Fryman retired the next 26 hitters in order for the 1 hitter.

Chicago White Sox SP Joe Horlen will miss up to 5 weeks with an injury. The 32 year old is 8-11 with a 4.75 ERA in 24 starts. Horlen was 13-16 with a 4.70 ERA in 35 starts last year. Horlen was an 1967 All Star when he led the league with a 2.06 ERA, .731 Winning Pct and 0.95 Whip. Horlen 19-7 in 35 starts in 1967. Horlen NO HIT the Tigers in 1967, it too in real life 40 years for another by a White Sox pitcher.....Mark Buehrle in 2007.

The Houston Astros have sold CF Joe Pepitone to the Chicago Cubs. The 29 year old is hitting .255 with 11 HRs and 49 RBIs in 88 games for the Astros. Last year Pepitone hit .278 with 30 HRs and 84 RBIs in 150 games for the Yankees. Peptione is a 3-time Gold Glover, 1969 World Series MVP, 1969 World Series Winner and 4-time All Star. Pepitone made an infamous error in the 1963 World Series when he misplayed or lost the ball while playing 1B on a ground ball putout setting up the batter safe at 3rd and would eventually score the Series winning run.
