The Colt .45s return to Houston for an 11 game home stand, beginning with a three game series against the Milwaukee Braves. The Colt .45s are an abysmal 4-22 at home so far in their inaugural season. The Braves have won five straight. The Braves lead the season series 5-2.

Rumor has it that Cincinnati Reds LF Wally Post could be on the trading block.

In the top of the first, Aaron extended his hit streak to 12 games with an RBI double.

Hendley was perfect through three.

After three: Milwaukee 1 Houston 0.

Amalfitano led off the bottom of the fourth with a double for the Colt .45s first hit of the game but he was thrown out trying to stretch it outinto a triple.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Colt .45s loaded the bases with two out. Golden flew out to left to end the inning.

In the top of the sixth, a single by Mathews scored Jones from second. Adcock followed by drawing a four pitch walk to load the bases with nobody out. Dave Giusti was brought on to pitch for the Colt .45s. A five pitch walk to Torre forced in a run. A single from McMillan brought home two more. Bolling brought in a run with a single. Ten Braves came to bat in the inning.

After six: Milwaukee 6 Houston 0.

In the top of the seventh, Aaron scored when Giusti was called for a balk.

Taussig led off the bottom of the eighth with a home run to prevent the shutout.

George Brunet took the mound for the Colt .45s in the top of the ninth. Adcock added an RBI single to the Braves lead. The Braves loaded the bases with two out after an Aspromonte error on a Torre grounder. Jerry Buchek came up to bat and grounded to third to retire the side.

Lew Burdette took the mound for the Braves in the bottom of the ninth.

The Braves got 10 hits in the win

Final score: Milwaukee 8 Houston 1.
