Today in Pittsburgh, the Colt .45s take on the Pirates in the second game of their series. The Pirates have lost four of their last six.

In the top of the first, Mejias put the Colt .45s in the lead with an RBI single. Ranew followed with a single that loaded the bases with one out. Aspromonte then stepped up and hit a two run single. A walk to Larker again loaded the bases with one out. Taussig brought in a run with a sacrifice fly. The Colt .45s batted around the order in the inning.

In the top of the third, Larker hit an RBI single. Taussig then beat out the 5-4-3 to allow Aspromonte to score from third.

In the bottom of the third, Clendenon put the Pirates on the board with a sacrifice fly.

After three: Houston 6 Pittsburgh 1.

With a runner on first and two out, Tommie Sisk took the mound for the Pirates.

In the bottom of the sixth, Clemente hit a solo home run.

After six: Houston 6 Pittsburgh 2.

In the top of the seventh, with a runner on first and one out, Jack Lamabe took the mound for the Pirates. With two men out, Taussig hit a two run triple.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Pirates loaded the bases with nobody out. Bailey scored from third when Stuart grounded into the 6-4-3. Clemente followed with an RBI single.

Roy Face took the mound for the Pirates in the top of the eighth. Mejias added to the Colt .45s lead with a sacrifice fly.

The Colt .45s used a 14 hit attack to finally give Bruce his first win of the season.

Final score: Houston 9 Pittsburgh 4.
