I just wish there was an opportunity to discuss the goals with the owner. Maybe change his/her mind on a completely unreasonable one. Like when you have an over-the-hill star and they insist on giving him an extension. You could explain that if you do this, it hurts the team since they'd be too expensive for the performance you'd get back. Or something like that. If your rep is better, maybe you have a better chance of changing their mind. Or maybe it's really hard to change their mind based on their personality.
