2024 Offseason
Free Agency Filings through the Rule 5 Draft:

Transactions:
We traded RF Joe Maynard to the Denver Foxes for minor leauge LF Jose Chaparro. With Myles Fenty returning from injury and Adan Corella hopefully making the Opening Day roster, our outfield was getting a little crowded. We had to pay most of Maynard's small salary, but Chaparro is a decent prospect that will report to AAA. He hit .253/.309/.343 in AA last year, but his best attributes are definitely speed and defense. Losing Maynard hurts a bit, but after his hot start he really didn't do much at the end of last season.

Around the League:
-The Explorers signed 31-year old 1B Bob Roberts to a 4 year deal worth $68 million. Roberts hit .268/.361/.539 with 42 HR and 117 RBI for New Mexico last year.
-The Explorers signed 36-year old SP Cho-yun Piung to a a 2 year deal worth $25.2 million per year, with a vesting option for 2027. Ping had a 3.13 ERA for Richmond and Denver last year, striking out 207 and walking just 40 in 229.2 innings.
-The Shockers signed 28-year old C Pedro Reyes, who hit .293/.393/.499 for the Spokane Comets in 2024. Reyes signed for a 7 year deal worth $196 million.
-The Impact signed 29-year old C Byron Williams to a 7 year deal worth $128.6 million. Williams made the All Star Game with St. Louis in 2024, hitting .285/.358/.448 with 12 home runs.
-Scouts RP Luis Moncada was expected to return before the start of 2025, but that is now in doubt as he had another elbow surgery. Moncada is likely out until at least July, after recording a 1.86 ERA in 36 innings last season.
-The Seals signed 37-year old RF Ed Gaylord to a 3 year deal worth $33.4 million. Gaylor hit .307 with 9 home runs for the San Antonio Scorpions last season.
