The Hurricanes G Cam Ward (8.0b/8.0b) had to virtually stand on his head as the Penguins fired 14 shots in the final 20 minutes and yet it was the Hurricanes who scored the final two goals on just five shots to get and seal the win.
NJD - 3 VAN - 2 All five goals were scored in a exciting first period, then tight checking defenses and great goaltending by both backup goalies over the next 40 minutes made the score final.
ARZ - 7 NYI - 5 Coyotes players RW Radim Vrbata (7.5b/7.5b) had two goals and an assist, and D Derek Morris (7.5c/7.5c) contributed three assists in a wide open affair that wasn't as close as the score indicated.

NYR - 5 SJS - 1 The Rangers continued their west coast swing, this time dropping in the Shark Tank otherwise known as HP Pavilion. The Blueshirts showed no kindness to the host team, jumping out to a three to zero score after one period and just increasing the pressure throughout the game. G Henrik Lundqvist (8.5c/8.5c) made 29 saves and brought his GAA to 1.33 and his save percentage to an astounding .952 on the season!
MIN - 3 NAS - 1 Twelve minor penalties set the tempo of this game as all three Wild goals were scored via the PP. The outcome was in doubt until the last 10 minutes of the third period when four minor Predator penalties gave Minnesota its opportunity to ice the game and they did.
