2084 Season:

The SEATTLE MARINERS were world champions, defeating the Houston Astros in 5 games.

The BROOKLYN CYCLONES were relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished 51-111, 4 games behind the Ogden Raptors for last place.

123 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

In Memoriam: Brooklyn Cyclones

Low A- New York Mets

Low A Teams Remaining: 10

Mets Affiliates Remaining: 1/6

All Time Record: 5047-5773 (.450)

Best Season: 2079, 98-64, 10th place

Best Hitter: Josh Slawson (2051-2061)

Slawson was one of the best defensive left fielders of all time. A first round pick in 2048, Slawson won his first of 9 Gold Gloves in his rookie season of 2052. He could hit too, holding a .833 career OPS with 464 home runs. He put it all together in 2056, when he had a .390 OBP, hit 35 home runs, and was worth 8.1 WAR. He later played 5 years with Cincinnati and one with Las Vegas before retiring in 2067. The Veterans Committee later inducted him into the Hall of Fame.

Best Pitcher: Chris Herriges (2066-2076)

Very few pitchers have been able to thrive in Brooklyn, and just because Herriges was the best, it doesn't mean he was particularly good. A second rounder out of Kent State, he started strong by making 30 starts with a 3.75 ERA as a 24-year-old in 2069. The following year he lowered his ERA to 3.05 and won 14 games. But thanks to his incredibly low strikeout totals, his success was not sustainable. Though not missing a start for 7 consecutive seasons, Herriges never struck out more than 165 batters in his time in Brooklyn, posting a 4.26 ERA. He later signed with the Orioles and won back-to-back World Series in 2077 and 2078 despite being injured for the majority of both seasons. Now 40, he currently pitches for Oakland and is coming off perhaps his most impressive season in years.

Notes:

Tacoma RF Ernesto Rebolledo led the league with a .375 batting average.

Gwinnett SS Luis Murillo led the league with 55 home runs.

The White Sox also have a slugger named Luis Murillo. He led the league with a 1.058 OPS. It's quite possible that the two best hitters in the league both have the same name.

Fresno 3B Pat Hatfield led the league with 8.3 WAR.

Round Rock SP Juan Ortega missed out on his third straight Cy Young, but he still led the league with a 2.30 ERA and 2.15 FIP.

NW Arkansas SP Mike Scarborough won Cy Young after leading the league with 330 strikeouts.

Padres SP Jeremy Dumornay threw 5 shutouts. They were the first 5 shutouts of his 8-year career.

White Sox SP Jon Coronado finished outside the top 3 in Cy Young voting, but he still struck out 312 batters to cross the 3000 barrier. Just 32 years old, he could challenge all time records.

The Fresno Grizzlies were the best MiLB team, going 102-60 and finishing in 3rd place.

The Oakland A's were the worst MLB team, going 71-91 and finishing in 104th place.
