Odd. Sorry to hear that for you. Boudreau hit around a 90-95 OPS+ for me. His average wasn't great, but he did walk and played incredible defense at 2b. 84 Erstad was a 5-6 WAR player in LF somewhat due to defense but could hit pretty well too, with an average OPS+ 110. Moved him RF when I got 84 Kaline and out Kaline in LF. Kaline hit pretty well against LHP but struggled a bit against RHP. Still hit just above OPS+110 but I expected better. All of that was in diamond.
Personally, I'd recommend 89 Maddux 89 Sutter and 89 eckersley except the value isnt there on the last two now that they're in collections. Pedro bourbon and gene garber are also very solid bullpen pieces assuming you have a good defense.
Cronin is an elite defensive SS. One player that I haven't seen mentioned here is Thurman Munson who is a catcher. Hits LHP really well. Needs a platoon for LHP realistically, but is solid all-around.
