Punching bags no more!

After a thousand years (almost) of futility, the Raccoons have made the Perfect League playoffs!

Mike Trout, the teams' 33-year veteran with 833 career home runs and more silverware than can be fit here, was close to tears when the team nailed down the playoff spot with a 5-2 win over the U-City Bouncers on the final day of the season. "Man, you spend an entire life running that hamster wheel", the 26-year-old remarked sobbing, "...and then you finally get to sit on top! That is something you'll really appreciate as an older player!"

The asterisks to this achievement include that they did so in a ridiculously lopsided league, with an 81-81 record, with a horrendous run differential of -66, and also by grabbing a "wild card" in a 20-team league with eight playoff teams.

Now, in a perfect (cough!) world, I would get to knock out the Snaggletown Snappers in the first round, but they start on the other side of the playoff tree and I don't consider a meeting likely
