GAME ONE
Jerry Koosman faced off against his old team. Koosman came just one out shy of a complete game shutout.

GAME TWO
Brad Havens pitched a 5-hit shutout as the Mets failed to score a single run in two home games.

GAME THREE
Dave Kingman broke a 21 inning scoreless drought for the Mets with a three run homer in the top of the fourth. The Twins rallied to tie the game at 5. In the top of the seventh, Kingman put the Mets back in the lead for good with a two run homer. The Mets scored seven runs in that seventh inning to cut the Twins lead to 2-1.
Final score: 1981 New York Mets 12 1981 Minnesota Twins 5.

GAME FOUR
Home teams were now 0-4 in the series after four games. Hubie Brooks went 3 for 5 with a home run and 5 RBI as the Mets tied the series.

GAME FIVE
This was the last chance for the Twins to win a home game in this series. The Twins sent Jerry Koosman to the mound again but were out hit 12-6 as the road teams improved to 5-0 in the series.

GAME SIX
The good news for the Mets? They were one win away from advancing. The bad news? They were back home where they had not been able to score a single run in this series. But, going into the ninth inning, it was the Mets with the 1-0 lead. However, in the top of the ninth, the Twins loaded the bases with nobody out. Dave Engle tied the game with an RBI single. One out later, Ron D Jackson gave the Twins the lead with a two run single. Down by two in the bottom of the ninth, the Mets loaded the bases with nobody out. John Stearns hit an RBI single to make it a 1-run game. Mike Jorgensen tied the game with a sacrifice fly. With the bases loaded and two out, Joel Youngblood singled to send the Mets into the next series where they will face the 1952 Pittsburgh Pirates.
Final score: 1981 New York Mets 4 1981 Minnesota Twins 3.
