What a daunting title!

What is the Impossible Infinity Gauntlet?

What I have done is taken every team from 1901 to 2018 and seeded them by victory total. Then loss total. Then year record was achieved. And lastly by alphabetical order.

Then the very last seeds will face each other in a Best of Seven 2-3-2 format. The winner will face the next higher seed and so forth.

Each series settings will be based on the year of the higher seeded team. This includes use of the designated hitter.

Yes, this seeding rules will be unfair to teams in strike-shortened or war-shortened seasons but sometimes life isn't fair.

Opening Day rosters will be used.

I am not listing all the seeds at this time. That's too damn many!

But I will tell you the gauntlet will begin with the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics taking on the 1919 Philadelphia Athletics. Based on 1919 settings.

The winner will face the 1981 Toronto Blue Jays.
