Campaneris led off the game with a single to stretch his hitting streak to 11 games. In the bottom of the first, Nelson singled to run his hit streak to 14 games.

Blue struck out Burroughs to end the third with a runner on third to record K #100.

After three: Oakland 0 Texas 0.

The pitchers continued to dominate.

After six: Oakland 0 Texas 0.

After Burroughs led off the bottom of the eighth with a single, Bob Locker replaced Blue on the mound and he sent the game into the ninth with still no score.

Oakland loaded the bases with one out in the top of the ninth anf Horacio Pina was brought in to pitch and Pina got out of the jam without giving up a run.

Locker began the bottom of the ninth by striking out King to record his 20th K on the season.

Texas got 9 hits in 9 innings but no runs.

After nine: Oakland 0 Texas 0.

In the top of the tenth, Reggie Jackson broke the tie with a two run homer.

Diego Segui came in to pitch the bottom of the tenth. Burroughs struck with a run scoring double but Ted Kubiak grounded out to end the game with two men on
