A huge advantage to the White Sox in the pitching matchups makes the Rangers task even more daunting in the series finale.

Chicago took no time loading the bases with nobody out in the first. Melton grounded out to bring in a run and May did the same. Stanhouse then ended the frame by striking out Hermann to record his 50th K on the season.

Howard looked like he would pick up an RBI single in the bottom of the first but Harrah was thrown out at home trying to score from second.

Orta hit a one out solo home run in the top of the second.

After three: Chicago 3 Texas 0.

Melton added to Chicago's lead with an RBI single in the fifth.

After six: Chicago 4 Texas 0.

Mike Paul replaced Stanhouse in the seventh with a runner on first and two out and he got the third out

King put Texas on the board with a solo home run in the eighth. One out later, Terry Forster took the mound and he got the final out.

Paul Lindblad took the mound for Texas in the ninth. Andrews bid for an RBI single was thwarted when Orta was thrown out at home trying to score from second.

Nelson led off the bottom of the ninth with a single to bring his hitting streak to 12 games. But a 4-6-3 would end the game and just in time as Forster looked to have hurt his shoulder.

Final score: Chicago 4 Texas 1.
