Walkers news: June 30 -- Rockford 8, St. Louis 7

Record: 41-37, 2nd (Tied/w. Springfield), 3 GB Cedar Rapids
Jean Segura hit a two-run pinch-hit home run off Reyes Moronta in the top of the ninth inning to help lift Rockford to an 8-7 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium (1997).
An RBI double from Tucker Barnhart off Jimmy Sherfy in the bottom of the eighth had given the River Walkers a 7-6 lead.
Earlier, riding a pair of homers from Andrew Benintendi off Lightning starting pitcher Justin Verlander, St. Louis had owned a 6-0 lead going into the top of the fourth inning.
But Rockford had busted loose against rookie starting pitcher Brendan Spagnuolo, who was making his major league debut in place of the injured Yu Darvish, pushing across six runs to tie it.
Eddie Rosario pushed across the first two runs with a homer.
Willi Castro and Amed Rosario later contributed RBI singles.
Charlie Blackmon plated the last two runs of the outburst with a two-run homer off John Curtiss, who had just reliever Spagnuolo.
Verlander lasted just three innings, giving up six runs on seven hits.
Ryan Pressley handled the next two innings, both scoreless, and was the first of five relievers to take the mound for the Lightning.
Jimmy Sherfy allowed the run in the eighth, but earned his third win of the season thanks to Segura's homer.
Craig Kimbrel saw St. Louis batters reach in the bottom of the ninth, but got Bo Bichette to hit into a double play to end it and notch his 10th save.
