3B Jeff Galka (33-R), formerly of Salt Lake City, signed a 3 year contract with Oakland for $910,000 per season. He hit .304 with 39 HR and 125 RBI and a .915 OPS in 2001. but dropped off to .245-27-89 with a .715 OPS in 2002. He does not have a great deal of range, but only made 12 errors at the hot corner in 154 games last year.

SP Dave Kushion (30-L), formerly of Kansas City, signed a 2 year contract with Chicago for $2.03 million. He was 18-6 with a 2.30 ERA for the PCL Champions last year. He missed half of 2001 with an injury.

LF Dave Pass (28-L), formerly of Montreal, signed a 6 year contract with a player option for a 7th season with Cincinnati with an average annual salary of just over $1.7 million. He is a decent fielder and made the All-Star team this past season. Over the past two years he has hit .297 with 37 HR and 144 RBI, 174 R and 48 SB and an .828 OPS. He is the 2nd 5+ WAR player the Expos have lost this winter (1B Roberto Perez).
