What do the stamina rating on those two players look like? That may be hurting them if it's unusually low.
In general, though, the noticeably increased fatigue is by design - fatigue management, both for the user and the AI, hadn't been enough of a factor before. Even when fatigued, the players will still play up to their normal standard for some/most of the game, but they'll hit the wall in the third period a lot more often than they used to. I think we might look at adding some period-by-period icetime options next year to make managing that a little better, i.e. play the lower lines more often in first and second so the first and second aren't worn down by the third.
