Alec Connell out-dueled
George Hainsworth and the
Habs avoided disaster with a 3 goal third period in the deciding game to advance.
Round 2
The
Montreal Maroons really shut down the defending champion
Rangers. In 3 games, they allow just three goals, completing a fairly easy sweep.
Alec Connell stopped 48 shots in a surprising 2-1 overtime in game one, giving
Detroit a very real shot at upsetting the
Habs. After game 1 though, nothing he could have done mattered.
Tiny Thompson allowed just one more goal in the next 3 games, all
Habs wins.
