2011 Playoffs - Round One

vs

Season Series 3-2

Anaheim is led by 3 65+ point scorers (Stone, Turris, Richie). Cam Fowler (8-34) leads the defensive unit. They are rounded out by Mikael Granlund, Ryan Getzlaf, Jake Gardiner and Max Jones. John Gibson (32-31-2 3.24 .905) will likely be the starter. This is their 9th straight season in the post-season.

Game 1:
The Ducks played a very disciplined game, taking zero penalties; however they also didn't have much of an offense, being outshot 30-21. Sami Vatanen and Logan Couture each recorded two points, as we cruised to a 4-0 shutout win.

Game 2:
The Ducks continued their disciplined dominance, again taking zero penalties. They also scored first, scored a power-play goal(1 for 4), led in shots (31-28) and face-off wins(34-32). However, Ondrej Palat's three point effort (2-1), including the game-winning goal just 2 minutes left in regulation, won the game. 4-3 victory.

Game 3:
In a bold move, Louis Dominigue started this one for the Ducks! He made 28 saves, and Sam Steel for the Ducks was the gold star with 2 points. The Ducks won 3-1.

Game 4:
Gibson back in the Anaheim, and they held leads on two different occasions, however they were erased. All team stats were very close and to no surprise, the game entered overtime, tied at 2. Nail Yakupov scored his 2nd goal of the game in overtime for the win as Steve Mason won the goalie battle. Pink Knights lead 3-1.

Game 5:
Nick Ritchie scored a Ducks' goal, but we scored five goals before his, including a power-play goal - our first this post-season. Our Agitator, Gustaf Wiklund, was player of the game, with a goal and an assist. Pink Knights win series 4-1?

Game 6:
The NHL has decided to continue on the series for some reason. Anaheim took the most of the opportunity and directed 46 shots at Mason. Ryan Getzlaf added a couple assists but it wasn't enough. Ondrej Palat scored the game-winner with 11 minutes remaining in regulation. Pink Knights win series 5-1??

Game 7:
The NHL has once again decided to continue this series... This time we put up 42 shots, Nail Yakupov scoring a power-play goal with 9 minutes left in regulation for the win, 3-2. Pink Knights win series 6-1???
