2045 IPA PRO CUP SERIES - Game 4

HOOVER HALTS RATTLERS 2-0, PRO CUP TIED AT 2
With his club down in the series 2-1, Billy Hoover was Johnny-on-the-spot and came just in the nick of time... his Southport Sun Sox were in dire need of a win and they got it... in an impressive outing Hoover shut out the Sugar Valley Rattlers 2-0 in game four of the IPA Pro Cup Finals and tied it up at 2 victories for each team... Hoover (4-2/2.05) struck out 7 batters, walked no one and allowed 7 hits in winning his second game of the series... in 7 innings loser Davey Brennan (4-2/3.22) was sharp, too, yielding only 2 runs on 8 hits with 4 walks and 5 Ks.

It was a scoreless tie for 5 innings... then the Sun Sox snapped it with RBI singles from C Vasilis Vlachos (.291) and LF Chris Jones (.365)... Vlachos tops the Sun Sox with 11 RBIs in the postseason... Southport picked up 8 hits with RF Pat Kinney (.263) collecting 2 of them... 1B James Milton (.313) cracked 2 hits to pace the Rattlers.
