2045 IPA PRO CUP SERIES - Game 1
SUN SOX STOMP ON RATTLERS 11-1
Not only did Billy Hoover hold hard-hitting Sugar Valley to just 5 hits in game one of the IPA Pro Cup Finals, he also wielded a good bat with a 3-run double in the 9-run sixth-inning explosion that highlighted Southport's 11-1 stomping of the Rattlers at Pleasure Beach Park... everything went right for the defending Pro Cup champion and everything went awry for the Rattlers.
Leading the Southport 11-hit attack was RF Pat Kinney (.273) with 3 hits and 2 RBIs... 2B Owen Wallace (.250) chipped in 2 RBIs and LF Chris Jones (.357) added 2 hits and scored twice... 1B Eddy Douglas (.333) walked twice and score 2 runs... and C Vasilis Vlachos (.310) also had 2 runs batted in.
Hoover (3-2/2.47) went the distance, fanned 3 and walked only one batter... Davey Brennan (4-1/3.35) suffered his first postseason loss this year in a terrible outing... he was blitzed for 9 runs in 5 innings.
