2022 Season:

The TEXAS RANGERS (122-40) won their first league championship, defeating the Cleveland Indians (127-35) in 5 games. For the second straight season, Cleveland finished with the best record in the league, and both years they lost in the World Series

The MOBILE BAY BEARS finished in last place, getting relegated to the Pit of Despair. They finished the season 44-118, 4 games behind the West Virginia Power. The Power finished one spot out of relegation for the second season in a row. The Bay Bears are the first AA team to fall into the pit.

185 teams remain in Major League Baseball...

Notes:

Giancarlo Stanton led the league with 79 home runs. He now has 659 for his career.

Bryce Harper led the league in OBP for the fourth season in a row.

Mike Parise (DET) led the league with his 11.9 WAR.

25-year-old Royals SP Mike Krieg had a breakout season, posting a 2.76 ERA leading all pitchers with 9.2 WAR. Unfortunately, Krieg's season and career came to a sudden end in September after a torn UCL.

Gwinnett Stripers SP Luis Trevino went 1-21 with an 8.25 ERA

Jordi Martinez did not have a decision in 57 relief appearances this year, so his winless streak still sits at 33 decisions.

Nine no-hitters were thrown, by far the fewest in a season in league history.

The Baltimore Orioles hit 420 home runs as a team.

The Visalia Rawhide were the best MiLB team, going 101-61. They have a payroll of $139,755,000, much of which is invested in stars Daulton Varsho and Pavin Smith. Their stadium seats 2468. They are $60 million over budget going into 2023.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were the worst MLB team, going 98-64.

David Ortiz and Alex Rodriguez were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Teams eliminated:
2018: Princeton Rays
2019: Bristol Pirates
2020: Aberdeen Ironbirds
2021: Hickory Crawdads
2022: Mobile Bay Bears
