C Derick Brassard (7.0c/7.5c) scored twice, RW Mats Zuccarello (7.5c/7.5c) had three assists, and the Capitals RW Troy Brouwer (7.5c/7.5c) also netted two goals as the Capitals just couldn't overcome the three goals the Rangers scored in the second period.
CAL -3 ANA - 1 The Honda Center in Anaheim saw a sharp performance by G Kerri Ramo (6.5b/6.5b) turning aside 26 of 27 shots and picking up third star for his efforts. Young phenom C Sean Monahan (6.5b/8.0b) scored his team leading 4th goal of the season.

FLA - in practice today RW Ales Hemsky (6.5a/6.5a) suffered a hand injury and was taken to the trainers room, the head trainer reported after x-rays the team doctor has indicated its likely there is some tendon damage and thinks Hemsky may be out for a significant time period. Hemsky had made a splash in just his second game with the Panthers scoring twice and this injury comes at a perticularly bad time for the Panthers as RW was one of the team's concerns coming into the season.
