Tonight is the second game in Houston between the Colt .45s and the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Colt .45s losing streak has climbed to an abysmal 14 straight games. The Pirates have won five straight.

In the top of the fourth, the Pirates loaded the bases with nobody out. Hoak popped up to first for the first out. Virdon then beat out the 6-4-3 allowing Stuart to score the game's first run. Mazeroski followed with a two out RBI single.

In the bottom of the fifth, Amalfitano put the Colt .45s on the board with an RBI single. Aspromonte then tied the game with a run-scoring double.

After six: Pittsburgh 2 Houston 2.

With one out in the top of the eighth, Jim Golden took the mound for the Colt .45s.

Roy Face took the mound for the Pirates in the bottom of the eighth.

In the bottom of the ninth, with a runner on first and one out, Diomedes Olivo took the mound for the Pirates. With the winning run at third and two out, pinch hitter Al Heist grounded to third to send the game into extra innings.

After nine: Pittsburgh 2 Houston 2.

Dave Giusti took the mound for the Colt .45s in the top of the tenth.

Jack Lamabe took the mound for the Pirates in the bottom of the tenth.

In the bottom of the eleventh, the Colt .45s got the winning run on base but Roman Mejias grounded into the 5-4-3 to end the inning.

In the bottom of the twelfth, Harvey Haddix took the mound for the Pirates.

In the top of the thirteenth, Dean Stone took the mound for the Colt .45s.

In the top of the fifteenth, the Pirates loaded the bases with nobody out. Clendenon lined out to third for the first out. Mazeroski then scored on a wild pitch. A walk to Stuart loaded the bases with one out. Clemente hit a sacrifice fly to score Leppert. Dick Schofield followed with an RBI single.

Tommie Sisk took the mound for the Pirates in the bottom of the fifteenth. The Colt .45s went down in order to lose their fifteenth straight game.

The Pirates got a dozen hits in the victory.
