For example, I honed on on Mariano Rivera. on 100% accurate, he's got a 55 potential rating as a RP, and his cutter tops out at like 105. I would think it would be much higher. but, i look at other RPs, and none seem to have dominate pitch ratings or potential ratings. Is that normal?
Well, in 1991 Mariano Rivera was in the South Atlantic League, and was four years away from a 5-3, 5.51 debut season. I'd say he's pretty fortunate to have a 55 potential rating given all that. Don't worry though...As his career progresses, he should become Super Mo. You've thrown a bit of a monkey wrench into that though by using the OOTP engine with (I assume) no recalc. If you do that, he's at the mercy of the game engine, and could become anything from RL Brien Taylor to RL Mariano Rivera.
